Every organisation has projects: they may arise as part of
a master plan or strategy or in response to a developing challenge
or problem. Some are relatively easy to manage, others can
be vital to the company’s very existence.
It is managing these highly complex and often time-critical
projects that presents the major challenge. In addition, projects
do not normally exist in isolation and organisations usually
have a portfolio of projects that need to be prioritised and
are quite often competing for attention and the same resources.
