BI systems can help companies solve both their immediate and long-term problems, but they’re not easy to get right, warns Graham Spicer of SolStonePlus.
Another problem is that while many businesses recognise the
value of BI, they are unable to apply it effectively to improve
their operations. Many have experienced a range of issues
such as data inconsistencies, poor data quality, and an ad-hoc
approach to installing BI systems.
In fact, business intelligence efforts are lacking at most
organisations, with very few companies imposing a centralised
strategy for managing their BI projects.
