Data warehousing and BI tools have been around for years, yet our latest research uncovers some surprising under-performance in their use. Report by Cliff Mills.
One major aim of data warehousing is to provide complete
information on all the interactions an organisation has with
its customers, thus providing a greater understanding of overall
customer activity.
However, creating this single view of the customer has proven
difficult and only 5% say they have achieved it for all their
customers and 11% for some. The majority (52%) say they are
still some way from achieving this, while 21% are working
towards this goal.
