Companies can use any database as a data warehouse or to
support analytics or business intelligence. However, if there
is a substantial requirement for complex or ad-hoc
analytics, then general-purpose databases without specialised
facilities will fail to give adequate performance.
If your query and report processing is well-defined in advance,
then you won’t need an analytic warehouse.
