More and more companies are defining themselves as ‘project-driven’.
But if this means project management software is moving to
the heart of what organisations do, it’s not to say the technology
actually delivers what they want.
Research for this Conspectus found that among the
organisations surveyed, not one thinks its project management
tools are ‘very effective’ – compared to 16% who see them
as providing ‘little effectiveness’ or as ‘not very effective’.
This failure of technology must threaten the success of projects
and the ability of companies to meet their business objectives.
As well as the technology, companies also need an integrated
project organisation, with the collaboration of many stakeholders,
rather than just relying on the poor project manager.
Our consultant authors offer advice on how to deal with these
combined technology and organisational demands.
