Q: DO YOU USE OTHER SOFTWARE ALONG WITH IFS?

A: We selected IFS because it is a very good transactional system and while it does have reporting tools, it cannot provide the same functionality as a bespoke analytical tool. We therefore use Cognos alongside IFS to provide the variety of detailed management information needed to effectively run our business.

With Cognos we can cut and dice information in any way we want – you can see profitability by customer, by product, by supplier, by currency, by period, etc. Previously we could only see profit by purchase order and nothing else; it has therefore greatly improved our decision making.
