Product options

There are two different categories of RTL on the market at present:

• Active tag. This uses active RFID tags to broadcast a signal, which is received by three reader antennae. The time each signal is received is passed on to a software system that uses triangulation to calculate the location of the asset.

• WiFi tag. This has some drawbacks compared to conventional RFID, in that it is less accurate (particularly when used outside) and less secure, and can require users to beef up the number of WiFi access points connected to their networks by up to 20%.
