  PROFILE

Joseph Zanette

Company: Wolseley plc.

Interviewee: Joseph Zanette.

Job Title: WMS Programme Manager.

The Subject: Wolseley is implementing a new global warehouse management system as part of a worldwide improvement programme to reduce its stocktaking costs, optimise stock levels and increase overall productivity.

PERSONAL FILE

NAME: Joseph Zanette.

BACKGROUND: Joseph was born in Pennsylvania, USA and attended the Pennsylvania State University where he studied logistics.

He joined Ferguson Enterprises, a Wolseley company, in 1998 as a business analyst. For seven years he designed, managed and implemented supply chain solutions across internal and third-party systems.

In 2005, he became supply chain application manager for the company’s North America division, where he was responsible for defining the overall supply chain technology strategy.

In 2007 Joseph moved into his current role as global WMS programme manager, where he is responsible for the HighJump WMS deployments across North America and Europe.

Q: WHY DID YOU START LOOKING FOR A NEW WAREHOUSING SOLUTION?

A: Over the last few years Wolseley has embarked on a major business change programme to re-design and standardise its business processes and supporting information technology infrastructure so it is ready to meet future business challenges.

One element of this programme is to provide a leading-edge global warehouse management system across all its distribution centres in North America and Europe. In turn this will interface with a new core supply chain management (SCM) solution that will begin implementation in the second quarter of 2008.
