It’s clear that the impact of compliance and regulatory legislation
on companies’ information management is growing – 86% of the
respondents to the latest Conspectus survey (see
previous article) say it has affected their document management
strategy.
Yet the way PCs are currently being used – in particular
the evolution of ‘desktop’ personal productivity software
such as Microsoft Word, Excel and email into corporate, business-critical
applications – is creating a major obstacle to successful
corporate compliant information management.
