While some of these technologies might be unfamiliar, their
presence in the UK workplace is growing. Our research shows
that 33% of UK organisations use VoIP telephony, 28% use videoconferencing
and many businesses intend to deploy such technology over
the next 12-24 months.
A key driver of this is demand from employees, who use these
technologies at home – in the form of Skype VoIP calls or
videoconferences on their computer, for example – and expect
to do so at work.
