Spreadsheets have long been beloved by the accounting fraternity
and, despite the availability of more sophisticated reporting
systems, they are still used frequently to produce reports
outside of the financial system by 52% of companies and occasionally
by a further 35%. Only 10% of the sample do not use them.
Line-of-business managers need to have up-to-date access
to financial information to monitor their performance on a
regular basis.
