The increased importance of human capital has created a strategic
imperative in many organisations for improved workforce measurement.
However, while HR executives understand the business decisions
that human capital metrics should support, they are less confident
in their organisation’s ability to effectively achieve this.
Advances in technology have greatly increased organisations’
capacity to accurately and efficiently record and report human
capital data, but this improved access has not translated
into greater insight and strategic impact. The predominant
application of HR information systems remains administrative,
with limited analytic applications.
