“The automation of a business process during which information
or tasks are passed from one participant to another for action,
according to a set of procedural rules.”
This is predominantly an activity-based view of workflow,
emphasising the quantity of work or tasks that flow through
the various stages in an organisation to achieve a satisfactory
outcome.
