It is no longer relevant to ask where the BPM function starts
and finishes compared to the application offerings, as these
applications all exploit BPM. However, the vendors rarely
sell them as BPM explicitly, to avoid being compared with
the component-level sellers named above.
These application offers from vendors such as Anite, DST,
PegaSystems, Contempus, Portrait and Zarion have all outperformed
component vendors by providing specific pre-configured applications
for specific industries and segments.
