Sean Baker: no company should tie its adoption of SOA to one technology
Service oriented architecture (SOA) is not new, despite what
you may have been told. The term was coined early this decade
to describe how some leading companies were organising/architecting
their IT systems. They gained business advantage by making
their systems cheaper to integrate and, even more importantly,
more agile to changing business needs.
So, interestingly, SOA was born out of success in real companies,
rather than coming out of a research laboratory.
