There has already been dramatic pre-launch client development
with the serverside properties of Office 2007 and the expanded
functionality of Sharepoint 2007, to deliver enterprise content
management ranging from complex forms and workflow through
to version control and business intelligence reporting.
In terms of the more traditional ‘e-business’ world – consumers
or in complex business-to-business scenarios – it is clear
that the success of future generations of corporate web services
and transactional gateways will hinge on the endto- end quality
of service from the browser through to line-ofbusiness systems
deep in the data centre.
