In all the examples above, there was insufficient direction
from the Board about precisely what they wanted the system
to deliver. Somehow, a new system would just miraculously
make everything better.
In case C, the first step towards turning the situation round
was to provide this missing direction. Board members often
argue that they do not have the time, or the detailed level
of ERP knowledge, to be able to take on the day-to-day project
direction role.
