E-business the way forward for supply chain - Part 2 | Part 1

A number of different groups have been formed which are now in various stages of developing and implementing e-business solutions. They include a large group of house builders and their suppliers; the stationery industry; and several large public sector groups which are using the eBIS XML standard to encourage e-procurement.

Among these is the university group known as HEeP (Higher Education e-Procurement initiative) and a number of local authorities, as well as the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) which is engaged in a major overhaul of the Government’s purchasing systems and which will shortly launch Zanzibar, its new e-procurement portal (see Figure 1).
