New ways of handling electronic transactions, both directly
with customers and with suppliers, are revolutionising the
traditional supply chain. 95% of documents that are created
in any supply chain are computer generated and, until quite
recently, most of them were printed out onto paper, sent through
the post and then rekeyed into different computers up and
down the supply chain.
Today, direct transmission of orders, invoices and payment
authorisations is fast becoming the norm.
