Infrastructure, Security & Business Continuity
Conspectus
December 2006 - Summary
Four in every five companies feel that their data and
storage requirements have increased ‘substantially’ over the
past two years.
That finding, from our research article,
probably comes as no great surprise, more a reminder that
managing the corporate IT infrastructure is like painting
the Forth Bridge – difficult and never-ending.
The task is not made easier by the fact that UK companies
are under pressure to cut costs by rationalising their IT
infrastructure, while at the same time dealing with growing
email volumes and IT security threats.
This issue of Conspectus offers some guidance in managing
the complexity of IT infrastructure, security and business
continuity. Our coverage ranges from business issues like
IT governance and asset management, to technology trends such
as service oriented architecture (SOA), virtual private networks
and server virtualisation.
