Web services standards have given
a major boost to companies’ efforts to integrate their IT
systems, bringing them closer to what PMP Research author
Pat Sweet calls a ‘culture of integration’.
This change is all part of the move to ‘agile’ and open software
identified by Graham Oakes. He
also argues that the pressure for greater corporate governance
means companies are being encouraged to establish architectural
governance – which translates into building an enterprise-level
integration framework.
Authors Tom Finneran and Ceri
Williams share these views on the importance of both governance
and enterprise frameworks. Other expert authors look at delivering
EAI in the real world and the best strategy for software development
projects.
