If an organisation has a reputation for sticking to administrative
procedures, provide them with procedures for engaging with
other parties and making the key decisions on interface definitions.
If they like to do things their own way, then just agree
an overarching framework so at least everyone can talk the
same language. Start by systematically managing the decision-making
process rather than challenging the decisions made – this
at least provides some method behind integration technology
selection even if you don’t prescribe the technology.
