This functionality can be provided by a number of commercial
business intelligence tools, although users will need to configure
the tool for their supply chain reporting needs. There are
also a number of newly emerging specific solutions for supply
chain management (see Figure 1).
In the last couple of years there has been a significant
revival of interest in sales & operations planning (S&OP)
amongst companies wishing to manage their supply chain more
effectively.
