Probably the greatest challenge in achieving supply chain
excellence is knowing when and where to take action and, conversely,
when to leave things alone. This applies both to short-term
tactical actions around identifying and fixing a fulfilment
problem, and longerterm actions concerning improvement activities
across the supply chain.
The reason this is a major challenge is down to the sheer
scope of the activities and resources that make up what we
call the supply chain.
