As well as improving their communication and collaboration
with external partners, including customers and suppliers,
organisations also have to think hard about how they communicate
internally.
With the move towards creating an ‘agile’ supply chain, companies
need to be able to hold off until the last moment the point
at which a generic product has to be customised. To do that
requires cooperation between many different links in the supply
chain, including the design team, the sourcing department
and the delivery operation.
