Accenture’s work is underpinned by the belief that in every
area of business endeavour, it is possible to identify – and
learn from – procurement leaders and the strategies that they
pursue.
The procurement leaders were identified as the 40 companies
within the sample – approximately 17% of the sample, in other
words – that demonstrated the best overall procurement performance.
Procurement performance was defined as the weighted average
of three key performance indices: purchase price index, quality
and delivery reliability.
