Offshore outsourcing has its critics, but Martyn Hart of the National Outsourcing Association argues that it’s good for business and the global economy.
Mark Kobayashi-Hillary, author of Outsourcing to India, comments on
the research findings: “I am encouraged by some of the supportive voices within
British industry. However, this is contrasted with almost half of the organisations
believing that the use of offshore services should be inhibited by EU/UK government
regulations.
“This could be a positive requirement, such as taking the NOA Code of Practice
and developing a standard legal framework around offshore services or it could
be a reaction to the rather negative political slant of the USA. That said,
UK government figures have indicated that the support of free trade between
nations is not compatible with the strict control of offshore services.
