ERP solutions have had a bad press compared to the best
of breed story above: the accepted wisdom is that you must
upgrade all the time to keep in step with the ERP vendor or
you face cancellation of support at worst and cost hikes at
best.
The good news is that the vendor is taking care of most of
the integration points at a fixed maintenance cost.
