Q: WHAT FIRST LED YOU TO ADOPT THE IRENAISSANCE
ERP PACKAGE?
A: Our reason for going down that route is that although
we are a relatively small company, our business involves several
hundred recipes and thousands of different components. Previously
we had a basic accounting package which basically meant we
had no control over raw materials and the cost of raw materials.
We needed to get something which would assist us in that
and there wasn’t a great deal on the market that was smaller
than Ross’ iRenaissance. Sage had a package called Job Shop
but that had no QA component, another package only ran from
the supplier’s server and we wanted to run it from our own
server – so although there were cheaper packages around, we
would have had to compromise quite significantly on what we
were getting.
We decided we would go for ERP and see what we got for our
money from which supplier. In the end, it was between Sanderson
and Ross and basically we felt that Ross had the edge.
