Healthy suspicion
But not everyone is so convinced that organisations will
find this new way of handling their enterprise applications
immediately attractive. Despite the fact that standards are
now more widely understood and adopted than in the past, there
is still a healthy suspicion of the dangers of proprietary
software.
“Widespread use of NetWeaver is not without challenges, particularly
in areas such as the warehousing of non-SAP data, companies’
willingness to use this technology to integrate non-SAP applications,
and the need to adopt a single portal framework,” Austvold
said.
