The challenge in making supply chain systems work is not selecting and installing state-of-the-art, latest-generation software tools. The challenge, as it always has been, is to get the critical mass of people throughout the supply chain to integrate processes and change their behaviour.

CPFR (collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment) and supply chain collaboration are widely discussed topics, but in my view most supply chains fall a long way short of successful implementation.
