The theme of the 1980s Kevin Costner film, Field of Dreams,
is to exhort the hero to build a new baseball pitch on his
farm. This is on the premise that once it is complete, the
team of ghost baseball players that are haunting his life,
will simply come to the field and play, and redeem themselves
thus ending a period of bewilderment and uncertainty all round.
He does, they do, and they all live (or not, as the case
may be) happily ever after.
