Many UK companies are improving their use of data by launching data warehousing, business intelligence and CPM initiatives. Pat Sweet reports on our latest market research.

In half of all cases, this development is deliberate and is described as part of a considered strategy. In a quarter of cases, respondents admit that the additional data warehouses or data marts are the result of tactical purchasing by individual departments, while 14% feel they are due to implementing products with in-built business intelligence solutions.

For some companies, having several independent data warehouses is not seen as an issue, since 29% expect their current implementations to remain separate as their scopes are mutually exclusive.
