The pressure to consider offshore service provision is rising inexorably. Hardly a week now goes by without a major company announcing its intention to move jobs to the Far East, or some major research organisation predicting that thousands of UK jobs are under imminent threat of being transferred overseas.
What began as an experiment by a handful of large multinational corporations – most recently BT and Reuters – has rapidly become one of the major forces reshaping large swathes of UK plc.
