Storage occupies a strategic place within the IT world. Intrinsically, it is at the root of information technology and represents the essence of IT infrastructures. It is therefore a paradox that, until just recently, storage did not have the attention it deserves.
The current storage services market has been boosted by the explosion in storage requirements, its increasing strategic importance, the increased complexity of its management, and the need to rationalise previous investments with a view to decreasing the overall cost of storage.
