Most companies are interested in corporate performance management technology but are not yet ready to rush in and buy. Pat Sweet reports.

As Figure 3 below shows, one in five of the sample have either never tried BI applications (18%) or have abandoned attempts to deploy BI (2%). However, the majority are committed to this technology, with 62% using BI applications to a limited extent and 16% using such applications very widely.

But while BI may offer a way to view both financial and operational factors, few companies seem able to achieve this in practice.
