Mike Ferguson of Intelligent Business Strategies says that CPM projects will only be successful if they are integrated with business intelligence developments.
Business intelligence (BI) processing involves business executives and line-of-business managers making decisions that feed into operational systems. Data is then extracted from those operational systems, integrated and loaded into data warehouses where reporting and analyses are produced using BI tools to measure business performance.
Some would call that classic BI. However it is really not enough – it is just business measurement rather than business/corporate performance management or CPM.
