  COMPANY FILE

Founded as a family business by Joshua Allders in Croydon in 1862, Allders plc is the UK’s fourth largest department store group. Its oldest store in Croydon is the third largest department store in the UK, and marks the group’s birthplace 141 years ago.

Allders has 44 stores in total – 24 department stores and 20 home stores specialising in furnishings and home accessories. It employs more than 7,000 people and has annual sales of more than £550 million.

In 1993, Allders floated on the stock market. Last year, it opened its Oxford Street store and a store at the Lakeside shopping centre.

A: Business Objects Analytics contains a large number of pre-defined reports which, from a strategic and analytical perspective, enables us to ‘hit the ground running’. And compared to other business intelligence tools, we felt this presented us with a greater flow of information through from when the data becomes operational, to when it becomes strategic analysis in the end.

Our existing BI deployment provides a fairly simple set of reports – basic stock reports, best sellers, etc – reports that improve the stock and replenishment process, drawing data out of the SFR application.
