Given the number of vendors introducing analytical applications, it seems likely that this will put a strain on otherwise complementary partnerships. For example, Informatica and Business Objects have all but called off their partnership because both have introduced analytical applications.

In the medium term, this will put more pressure on vendors to become self-sufficient in their product portfolios or find a clever way to keep all partners content.
