New functionality

Such initiatives are frequently the responsibility of the HR department. While some ERP vendors, most notably PeopleSoft, already offer an extensive HR module as part of their suite, others are starting to add in this, and other, functionality.

“HR is not normally involved in the nitty-gritty part of the project, but their role is absolutely crucial to support the training and change management needs which are the backbone of an ERP project. By far the most important role for HR is to ensure employee enrolment in education and awareness,” Coldrick acknowledged.
