Part of the difficulty may be the need to get front and back-office systems working together in order to provide the sort of information customers or suppliers want. One in five (20%) of companies think their systems work very well together, but the majority (55%) are less convinced and 19% see definite room for improvement.
In most cases, companies use a combination of specialist tools and the facilities available within their main manufacturing package to handle the integration requirements which collaboration throws up.
