Renaissance in Liverpool
Liverpool City Council has pledged to its 440,000 residents to transform service delivery and working practices through a radical modernisation programme. By investing in new technologies, Liverpool aims to work towards a ‘joined-up government’ and the electronic delivery of council services wherever possible.
To support this, in July 2001 the council formed a joint venture with BT and created Liverpool Direct Limited (LDL) to provide a vehicle for regenerating services under the direction of David Henshaw, the council’s then newly appointed chief executive.
