Looking at this issue in more detail, we asked our sample
to rate their current financial and accounting packages in
a number of key areas, using a scale of 1 to 5 – where 1 equals
‘very poor’ and 5 represents ‘excellent’.
The aggregated results show that the quality and reliability
of the software gain the highest marks (3.70), as seen in
Figure 3. Companies are also reasonably content with the costs
of maintenance (3.00) and the ease of use of the applications
(2.98). And there is only slightly greater concern over support
issues, with helpdesk provision scoring 2.96.
