Identifying the ‘pain points’ is not enough to build a CPM
roadmap. Corporate strategists must also determine whether
any current projects can be leveraged to deliver broader benefits
to the enterprise.
For example, enterprises could expand a finance-driven initiative
to replace a spreadsheet-based budgeting system with BI applications,
to link to demand planning in the supply chain area and provide
a far more powerful enterprise model for forecasting revenue.
