E-procurement has brought very real and very significant benefits to many companies over the last few years, enabling them to achieve rapid return on investment by dramatically reducing their costs and directly improving their bottom line.
FedEx, for example, is quoted in a recent Aberdeen Group Report as achieving savings of up to 40% on the purchase price of some goods through its e-procurement system, whilst Unilever Europe estimates overall savings (including process savings) of 5-8% for its implementation.
