More supply chains are moving online, but companies are struggling with the implementation issues involved, according to our latest research. Pat Sweet reports.

The demands of keeping up with competitors, handling the new requirements of e-commerce and moving to more global operations, have all combined to mean that for many companies, supply chain management systems can no longer simply stand still.

A quarter (24%) of those polled describe their efforts to re-engineer their supply chain currently as ‘ongoing’. When it comes to contemplating their plans for the future, this proportion is set to rise to a third (32%). Moreover, while an additional 18% have re-engineered their supply chain recently, another 30% expect to do so over the coming 12 months.
