This tendency for HR information technology to be dealt with by IT experts, rather than HR specialists, may be one reason why the systems themselves fail to satisfy requirements for half of our respondents. Perhaps the emphasis is too much on the latest on the technology front, and not enough on HR-based requirements.
However, technological considerations remain important, with over a third (38%) of the companies we polled saying that systems integration is more of an issue than it has been in the past, along with flexibility (30%).
