Significantly, the next biggest worry is cost, cited by 82% – a much greater proportion than the 50% who identified it as a cause for concern last time around. Undoubtedly difficult economic conditions are causing companies to be more anxious about IT investment in general, and e-business spend and returns in particular.

Both of these factors outweigh other challenges, such as handling the constraints of legacy systems (58%), re-aligning business processes (58%), or tackling either the associated business upheaval (28%) or users’ resistance to technology (26%).
