The PRO administers a
software compliance checking
programme, much as the US
DOD runs one for 5015.2 This
programme allows software
suppliers to submit their
products for formal testing
against the specification.
Products deemed to be
acceptable receive PRO
‘approval’, a distinction of
great value to potential
purchasers. The list of
approved products, along with
the specification, is published
on the PRO website. An update
to the Functional Requirements
is planned within the next 12
months, to take into account
recent developments.
