SURVEY STATISTICS
|
 |
|
For our research, we spoke to 50 companies who have been
using workflow, document management and related
technology for varying periods of time.
The majority of the sample are from medium to large sized
organisations, since this is the sector which has been leading
the way in business process automation.
Over half (58%) of our sample are from companies with a
turnover greater than £150 million and a quarter (26%) report a
turnover of more than £5 billion.
The companies are from a range of industry sectors.
Banking and finance (22%) are particularly well represented, as
the financial services sector has emerged as an enthusiastic
user of workflow systems in recent years.
The public sector, under pressure to make its services more
efficient, is another area where workflow is starting to make a
mark and 12% of our respondents are from this background.

THIS YEAR’S SURVEY of
workflow, document
management and related
business process automation
tools suggests strongly that
these applications are moving
swiftly to become a pre-requisite
for many large
companies.
The question is no longer
whether the technology will
work, but how to make best use
of what is becoming a critical
application.
